Overview

The 890 logger is a purpose-built forestry swing machine – the largest in the Mackolines Machines & Hire range, and a true west coast machine.

The rear entry cab is large, comfortable and easy to access. The operator is positioned up high with a commanding view of the work area and excellent sightlines in all directions.

The hooked main boom geometry and forward cab positioning provides unmatched right-hand side visibility.

Room to breathe and room to work. Thoughtful component arrangement allows for optimal cooling airflow and full access to service points.

Safe walk-up access to all service points and to the rear cabin entry door.

Won't Rock the Boat

Stable base of operations. Mackolines Machines & Hire logger undercarriages have long track frames and a wide stance for high stability and operator comfort when lifting heavy loads and working at extended reach.

In addition to adding stability, the cast counterweight protects the upper assembly from impacts.

BTB visited Vancouver Island, British Columbia and spoke with operator Marty Fladager of Dynamite Logging to get his thoughts on the 890 logger. Equipped with a live heel boom system, Marty is using the machine primarily for shovel logging large timber on varied terrain.
